Berlin's original techno institution, born in 1991 in the vault of a former department store. After relocation in 2007, Tresor operates in a former power station in Mitte, with the legendary basement vault room and industrial aesthetic that defined Berlin techno.

HOW TO GET IN
Tresor's door is moderate — not as intense as Berghain. Arrive after midnight when the crowd has thinned. Industrial aesthetic is appreciated; think dark, functional clothing.
Tresor operates cash only — at the door and at the bar. Get euros from a cash machine before you arrive. Entry is €12–15 depending on the night.
The Globus basement is the real Tresor — claustrophobic, dark, relentless. This is where Berlin techno was born. Start in the vault before moving to Globus upstairs.
Check for Tresor Records label events — these are the legendary nights with Surgeon, Underground Resistance, and Robert Hood. The best nights to visit if you can plan ahead.
THE INSTITUTION
The legendary basement — originally a bank vault, now the spiritual heart of Tresor. Industrial concrete, metal cage aesthetic, claustrophobic and pounding. This is where Berlin techno was invented.
The main room in the former power plant. A vast industrial space with a towering sound system. Globus hosts international techno headliners and large-format events, maintaining Tresor's global reputation.
Tresor forged the connection between Detroit and Berlin techno. Pioneers like Juan Atkins, Blake Baxter and Jeff Mills played early residencies here, creating the foundation of what techno became globally.
The club's record label has over 200 releases spanning 30+ years. An essential archive of techno history with releases from Surgeon, Underground Resistance, Robert Hood and Berlin's finest artists.
