Type an English word and get its perfect rhymes — words that sound the same from the last stressed vowel to the end — grouped by how many syllables they have. It reads pronunciation, so "through" rhymes with "blue" and "love" does not rhyme with "move".
The rhymes come from the CMU Pronouncing Dictionary of Carnegie Mellon University — about 126,000 words with their sounds and stresses, released under a BSD-style licence — the same file the Lyrics & Flow tool uses. Two words rhyme perfectly when their sounds match from the last stressed vowel to the end. The dictionary includes many names and rare words, so read the list with a songwriter's ear.
Only perfect rhymes are listed. Slant rhymes, multisyllabic rhymes across several words and Turkish rhymes are not — for Turkish lyrics, Lyrics & Flow colour-codes the rhymes in your own lines.
Why is my word not found?
The dictionary covers standard American English pronunciations. New slang, brand names and
many proper names are missing; try a related form or another spelling.
Does it work offline?
After the dictionary has loaded once, every search runs in your browser.
Why are "time's" and similar forms left out?
Possessive and contracted forms would repeat the same words with an apostrophe; leaving them
out keeps the list readable.
