A single piano note plays in a random octave, with nothing to compare it to. Name it. Ten notes make a round; random guessing scores about one in twelve.
Each note is a real piano sample in a random octave between 3 and 5, so you cannot rely on height alone, and the same note never comes twice in a row. You can replay the note as often as you like. White keys only is an easier warm-up.
Absolute pitch — naming a note with no reference — is rare in the general population and more common among people who started music very young. It is not a measure of musical talent: almost every working musician relies on relative pitch, hearing how notes relate to each other, which can be trained at any age.
To train that, use Interval Ear Training and the Chord & Scale Ear Trainer.
What score means I have perfect pitch?
Consistently getting 9 or 10 out of 10 on all twelve notes, round after round. One good
round could be luck.
Can perfect pitch be learned as an adult?
Adults can improve their pitch memory with practice, but research generally finds that full
absolute pitch is very hard to acquire after early childhood.
